TOI | ART
I left college not knowing what I wanted to do when I 'grew up'. I had loved art and art history at school, but I didn't know how to translate that into a career. I drifted for a time, working in hospitality, hating my job but not knowing what to do about it. Then a counsellor suggested The Learning Connexion (TLC). Back then it was in a building on Tory Street, above a commercial printer. It became my safe space to explore, learn and express myself. The founder, Jonathan Milne, saw something in me and mentored me to grow from a student into a tutor.
TLC marked the beginning of my career in learning and development and my lifelong passion for creating.
In the past I participated in many exhibitions, including TLC Staff and Tutor shows, with Watercolour New Zealand, the Academy of Fine Arts, and in a duo show at the Toi Gallery, Pataka Museum of Arts and Cultures.
